Editing and special effects
More than a year passed between the last shot filmed for Tales from the Magic Garden and the moment the film was first shown in theatres. This is because all the individual shots first had to be digitally edited: puppet holders had to be removed from the image and, in some instances, backgrounds had to be added. The editor put all the shots together in the correct order and added sound. During this process, known as editing, computer-generated effects were also incorporated in the film, and the colours were adjusted.
