Production design
In puppet animations, characters move around in settings created especially for them – called sets. Some sets resemble places and dwellings from our everyday lives, while others are entirely imaginary. But because all the spaces and objects in them are smaller than in real life, they have to be crafted just for the film. For the Slovenian part of Tales from the Magic Garden alone, a team of nine set makers spent more than six months creating four outdoor and three indoor settings. One of them is only visible for six seconds in the finished film.
The houses on this street do not have rear walls. In film sets, only the parts that will be visible in the footage are built.
